Chemical and Thermal Pollution Impacts from Off-shore Wind Turbines

Every country that pushes wind turbines wants them off the coast, out of the way, far from view. You'd think that would be fine. Except for the THERMAL AND CHEMICAL POLLUTION. It's actually quite difficult to find accurate information about how much pollution turbines release into the ocean and the other effects on marine life. Here is part of an article written in 2021 about wind turbine effects on Lake Erie: Wind Turbine-borne contaminants Beyond disturbing the sediment for construction and transmission line installation, two additional emerging contaminants are found to be shed by operational wind turbines – bisphenol A and neodymium. Bisphenol A is the primary ingredient in industrial epoxies and is extensively used in turbine blade construction to keep the blades as lightweight as possible. Due to what is known as leading edge erosion, this chemical, a known endocrine inhibitor is damaging to reproductive health in both people and fish. Half-life in air is roug...

REZ Resistance Tasmania - Community Action Group

source Hi Everyone,   Message from REZ Resistance that is VITAL for our fight against these monstrosicities destroying our beautiful island.   Dear friends,   THIS IS IT. The draft bill for the REZ has been released on the REZ website.  I've attached 2 PDFs to this email, the bill and the guide to the bill.   It is vitally important that we read and make submissions to this bill.  Let them know what you are thinking, and what your thoughts are regarding the zone and what it will bring to our region and our community.  Find the issues within the bill - all of the omissions that will affect your lives and your property and let them know that it's not acceptable.  We MUST be heard. The link below I have copied from the RECFIT website:   How to Make a Submission The Tasmanian Government is committed to providing opportunities for community involvement in the development of government policy. We are seeking your feedback ...

Fire Risk and Wind Turbines on Your Land

source I post an email from a friend which arrived in my inbox today. VERY important issue about fire safety and wind turbines on your property and properties nearby. Dear Friends, I recently came across some information that I think is very important for all of us to be aware of regarding the heightened risk of fire resulting from wind turbines. Not many people know that if a fire breaks out, whether due to the wind turbines themselves or from any other source, water bombing and other aerial support to firefighters may be difficult or even impossible in the vicinity of wind turbines. Please see the following: Letter from a Firefighter’s Wife https://stopthesethings.com/2013/01/11/as-australia-burns-an-impassioned-plea-from-a-fire-fighters-wife/comment-page-1/ Communities Burned by Turbines (Cached webpage) https://webarchive.nla.gov.au/awa/20130123125049/http://pandora.nla.gov.au/pan/141218/20180503-0021/stopthesethings.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/communities-burned-by-turbine...
