REZ Resistance Tasmania - Community Action Group

source

Hi Everyone,

Message from REZ Resistance that is VITAL for our fight against these monstrosicities destroying our beautiful island.

Dear friends,

THIS IS IT.
The draft bill for the REZ has been released on the REZ website.  I've attached 2 PDFs to this email, the bill and the guide to the bill.
It is vitally important that we read and make submissions to this bill.  Let them know what you are thinking, and what your thoughts are regarding the zone and what it will bring to our region and our community.  Find the issues within the bill - all of the omissions that will affect your lives and your property and let them know that it's not acceptable.  We MUST be heard.

The link below I have copied from the RECFIT website:

 How to Make a Submission

The Tasmanian Government is committed to providing opportunities for community involvement in the development of government policy. We are seeking your feedback on the draft legislation for renewable energy zones.

Anyone can provide feedback and we request that you read the draft legislation as well as the guide before submitting your feedback. If you need assistance or have further questions about the draft legislation please contact us.

* All submissions on the draft legislation must be received by midnight on Sunday 1 September 2024, AEST.

Submissions can be sent by:

Email: rez@recfit.tas.gov.au
Mail: Renewables Climate and Future Industries Tasmania

Other than indicated below, submissions will be treated as public information and may be published on our website.

* No personal information other than an individual’s name or the organisation making a submission will be published unless you request otherwise.

If you would like your submission treated as confidential, whether in whole or in part, please indicate this in writing at the time of making your submission clearly identifying the parts of your submission you want to remain confidential and the reasons why. In this case, your submission will not be published to the extent of that request.

* Copyright in submissions remains with the author(s), not with the Tasmanian Government.

The Department will not publish, in whole or in part, submissions containing defamatory or offensive material. If your submission includes information that could enable the identification of other individuals, then either all or parts of the submission will not be published.

For further information, please go to our Renewable Energy Zones website https://www.renewableenergyzones.tas.gov.au/

Thank you all for your attention to this and for taking the time to make submissions. Every opinion counts, and each and every submission is vitally important.  Please don't leave it to others.  Be heard, don't let the government roll over our community.

 Best regards,
REZ Resistance Tasmania

More blackout events due to Wind Farm generated power supply

source  Here are some links to several recent articles. Interestingly, the usually biased, left-leaning ABC has had to report on these failures. South Australia has had catastrophic failures, which have a huge impact upon the community and vital services. With the insistence upon phasing out coal and gas (which are highly efficient immediate sources that can instantly support the grid. Contaminated seafood from shredded wind turbine blades in Nantucket

source A recent disaster off the coast of the beautiful island of Nantucket continues to unfold. A shredded turbine blade spread six TRUCKLOADS OF DEBRIS, toxic particles of fibreglass, microplastics and more, all over nearby beaches and in the seawater. Now authorities are assessing the impact upon sealife, including seafood. Read the full article here: Nantucket wind turbine disaster     This begs the question - do we want these toxic particles in our food? In our bloodstream? In our children's bodies? And what are the effects of these chemicals upon human health and development? Especially given the carcinogenic impacts of such toxins.

PUBLIC CONSULTATION MEETING regarding renwable Energy Zone Burnie Tasmania

This Sunday, independent MP Craig Garland is convening a public meeting for residents and those interested in the current proposal for a mega wind farm for Northwest Tasmania. The wind farm is proposed for one of 5 Renewable Energy Zones, called REZ. The relevant Tasmanian Government website RECfit announced in July 2024 their intention to establish these zones throughout Tasmania, including one in Bass Strait, off the north coast of our island.   The problem? Despite the community requesting more detailed information about these proposals, in order to properly assess whether they actually  want them in the area, the Tasmanian Government, represented by minister Nick Duigan, has refused to meet with the community to discuss and answer their many valid questions.    Northwest Energy Impacts Independent MP and Braddon electorate representative Craig Garland has stepped up. On Sunday he will provide a venue for people living in and near the proposed zone. The meeting w...
